Wh0 is keep columbus beautiful?
Keep Columbus Beautiful (KCB) is a City of Columbus community improvement program and an award-winning affiliate member of national not-for-profit Keep America Beautiful. The 30 year old program works at the grassroots level to coordinate volunteer litter clean-ups, promote graffiti prevention, recycling, and beautification initiatives. KCB also offers educational programs to promote awareness of sustainable living. These issues play a key role in Mayor Michael B. Coleman’s commitment to improving the quality of life in Columbus' neighborhoods and compliment his efforts to build a green city.
Through its Visitor and Supply Center, KCB lends tools and equipment to groups throughout the city that are facilitating their own clean-ups and beautification events. KCB also sponsors the ‘Adopt an Area’ program. Since 1983, KCB has made a tremendous impact on Columbus through its promotion of sustainability, safety and a positive image.

a collaboration
KCB has reached out to Ohio State via PayItForward's CAUSE program. Two students were paired with KCB as interns, and were tasked with connecting campus with KCB's new litter campaign, “Three Words About Litter…PICK IT UP!" The goal is to promote pride and a feeling of responsibility for the appearance and safety of The Ohio State University area as well as demonstrate that litter is an issue that we can collectively remedy. Hence the slogan: "PICK IT UP, Bucks!" Check out the "Education" tab to learn more about the problem, and the "Initiatives" tab to find out how you can help!
