Pick it up on Gamedays, Bucks!
A new initiative: Keep our Campus litter free on football saturdays
All of us in Columbus know that home football games on Saturday are the best. The sounds, smells, traditions and pride that show up in Columbus every Saturday are like nowhere else in the United States. The pride in being a Buckeye that brings us together on game days should also bring us together to keep our campus litter free. Every game day thousands upon thousands of people come to Columbus to get this awesome experience. These Buckeye fans and even opposing fans follow the lead set by the off-campus community. If these fans see trash on the ground, they will think they can do the same thing. We do not want to set that kind of example. Let's show opposing fans and visiting Buckeye fans that we have pride in our university, not only on the field, but also in the surrounding areas off-campus. Show your Buckeye pride this football season by picking up the litter. Just remember these four words....PICK IT UP, BUCKS!
Pick it up, Bucks! !
litter awareness and remedy at the ohio state university
"Pick It Up Bucks!!" is a collaboration between Keep Columbus Beautiful and The Ohio State University to make Columbus, Ohio the cleanest and safest city in the land. Our mission is to make OSU students, faculty, and visitors aware of the issues related to litter while instilling a sense of social responsibility. Proper waste disposal is up to each of us. As students, we need to do our part to uphold the integrity and beauty of campus. Our future depends on our ability to care about the environment today. A clean campus and off campus shows that we have pride and respect for the Columbus community as a whole. If you care about any or all of the foregoing, then you should stand behind our flagship initiative!
Here is what we are asking:
Take responsibility for the well-being of the OSU campus and your community. Remember this responsibility when you go to throw something away, and remember this responsibility when you see garbage dirtying the streets of your neighborhood. Don't litter. When you see litter, do not be passive--pick it up! Explore this site to learn more about litter as it relates to quality of life, crime, economic development, and tourism - all important to maintaining a vibrant community.
